Which laptop should I buy with budget within 1000USD?

Hello,

I'm loking to buy new laptop..

At present i'm using HP dv 6226tx.

It's best except older configuration..it has remote control, touch multimedia keys etc..

1. anyone suggest me best choices of laptops around 1000-1100 USD?

2. Any model/company provides internation warranty (specially bought in US and warranty in india??)

3. Any laptop now a days come with remote control, touch multimedia keys etc..? bcz i had such laptop (bought 5 yrs before) but i'm not able to find such function in newer laptops..

I bought a new laptop right at a year ago and at the time HP beat everybody by a good bit. I narrowed it down to Dell or HP but the HP came in a few hundred cheaper when I got similar specs.

Really, you should be getting a list of laptops you like the look of, narrowing it down and then asking on here which is best.

Asking people for suggestions really doesn't work well as most people only have experience with 1-2 laptops at a time.

Searching all the shopping sites and creating a list for you is a lot of work.

You need to do the work and we can help with the rest.

well, shipping to india isnt my question..any laptop available in US will be fine as my friend is in US and he'll buy laptop for me...

i want to buy among HP, Dell, Sony only..
minimum config is 4 gb ram, 500gb hdd, core i7 2nd gen processor, 1gb graphics card, 15" or more than 15inch display..

i have extended budget - upto 1100-1200USD..so from suggest me laptops of my desired config with best design from hp/vaio/dell within price of 800-1200 USD..

Any of them will probably be a fine machine. Pick the one you think looks the best or go to their web site and build one from each company and get the one that provides the best value for your money.

The prices linked are for the lowest spec models. I'd go for either of the HP's with an upgraded graphics card (7690) if you want to do any kind of gaming. Both have i7's and 8gb ram.

The Dell and Sony are slightly lower spec at a higher price

Only differences you asked about are the size.

i didnt understand..

dell and sony both have also same config like hp, isnt it? it's customizable..and i have my budget upto 1200USD..can extend 50-100 more if it's valuable..

The dell and sony both give you an i5 with 6 or 4gb of ram for around $1000, the video cards look worse too, but i haven;t done a full comparison on benchmark sites.

With the HP, you get an i7, 8gb ram and a strong video card for less than $1k.

The only reason to spend more than $1k is if you want to do some serious gaming, or want the bigger display.

if you go with the HP, chose the better video card and one of the different batteries

r u sure? i thought dell is cheaper than hp..vaio costs more.

the dell starts at $999 with an i5. the dell with the i7 is $1300

The video card upgrade (7690) and a battery upgrade put's the HP at the same price, but with a better cpu, better video and more ram.

as for battery, if you don't mind the bulk/weight, get the 9-cell. Otherwise get the advanced 6-cell.

It's worth upgrading the display on the dv6 too, if you have the money ($150 extra)

The Dell and Sony already have a full HD display. equivalent spec'd machines put the dell at about $1300 and the HP at $1150.

If you are not worried about how powerful the laptop is and are happy with an i5 and lower end video card, go for the dell for it's display.

the dv6 is a little bulkier but cheaper. Not sure if there are any other real (non-cosmetic) differences.

Edit - The DV6 has more memory a bigger HDD and is cheaper
