Awesome 3D modeling software.....Free!!! $1000's
Be sure to not only get the main software, but search through hundreds of add ins and other software as well. Totally free!!!!!!! Some are paid, however if you get the main software which is free, you can add other items as well!!!
I picked up $1800 worth of 3D modeling software and add ins totally FREE!!!! Just does not get better than that ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.daz3d.com/i/0/0 here is some example of add ins ![]() http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/c...sis?item=13162 http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/f...g-in?item=4137 http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/v...-4-2?item=4783 Oh and they are getting slammed So you might have to try a couple of times to actually get to the site. Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Edit: Here is the page with all the different items they are offering for free: https://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/al...1,cat_1068_382 With what everyone is stating, all the free offers are just the tip of the iceberg. :-)

Oh I don't think so. It is for 3D computer modeling. Much like game use. Hell within their tutorials your able to create animated movies.

So is this sort of like the GIMP for 3D or what? Is it new? Sounds cool offhand and once I get more info may inform this guy at work for whom I'm building a rendering box. Maybe he doesn't have to buy Maya and such, at least right now.

a good example of what this is, is kind of like the demo benchmarks in 3DMark or Nvidia benchmarking tools. At least that is what I am gathering from the software. Hope that helps LOL

Ok, what's the deal with this? First one's free and all that? I thought it would force you to some kind of paid subscription (a la technet) but no.

its free when you register
but anything DAZ is a joke all those over inflated 3D tit renders you see are done with DAZ products you spend $40 a pop for there models to render stuff Bryce 7 is okay but for most modeling etc, its mid range, XSI / Maya / 3DS Max will always be top dogs, Bryce and Modo and Lightwave come in the middle of the pack Google Sketchup Blender bring up the rear im missing a few but those the are common ones Essentially most DAZ products are a laughing stock in the realm of real 3D art, it serves a purpose tho mostly pre production for quick ideas, but thats about it below is a typical DAZ offering ![]() Bryce on the other hand is actually useful Sadly a large number of works using pre made models from DAZ with few users producing exceptional content, has led for it to receive little fan fare, still its not a bad program, probably the best thing DAZ has at there disposal, Bryce can actually be 100% useful if you know how to use it.

correct bottom pic is Bryce sadly Bryce gets written off as well because most people by DAZ models use POSER / DAZ Studio etc pose them animate drag sliders to make tits bigger then export and render in Bryce.
This is one of those examples where somewhat useful software has been deemed beneath most 3D artists due to the community that uses them just making chicks with big tit renders... and sadly there not even good renders. another example here, fairly decent render, but none of the 3D models / Textures / Normal Maps belong to the user who rendered it its all pre made DAZ content loaded into Bryce then hit render. so as you can see you can do alot with the tools, problem is most people dont. ![]() In the End DAZ does the free software because the sales for there 3D Objects and content will make up for it, more people will buy Victoria 3 4 5 etc and clothing props etc, in the end they make more from these sales then they do on the software themselves. you will also notice its only the ENTRY lvl barebones for each product Last edited by crazyeyesreaper; Feb 3, 2012 at 05:52 AM. |

This is nothing new.
Three years ago I discovered the software. They ran it as a "limited time offer" that you had to register for. I got streams of e-mails from the company, and the whole goal was to buy character models, clothes, props., etc.... So the barebones offers one slightly modifiable figure, with a very small limit to customization. The add-ons developed by the company are great, but cost money. As more people release free versions of the studio software the studio ups the ante on the quality of their releases. The software makers are smart. $1200 up front is a huge cost. $1000 over two years is easy enough to justify. These people developed the free-to-play model well in advance of the video game industry. I'd support them, if I could be bothered to care about artistic rendering (read: engineering background need not apply here).
