I/O Shield

Picked up a ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3 (open box) and it was missing the I/O Shield. Contacted ASUS but it was sounding like they don't sell those by themselves, so Does anyone have one for this board that they can part with?

You could do without, maybe. Or make one of cardboard.

If it was mine I wouldn't be so concerned with it but it's the Mrs.'s comp and it would be my luck something would get snapped being plugged or unplugged. If you could have seen her face when I said cardboard was mentioned Amazingly enough ASUS never called or e-mailed back after I got off the phone with them yesterday I may just poke through some old board boxes and see if I have anything that may work until I can find the actual one.

Well, I would not have made the suggestion if you had told it is for the Mrs.

If you would have made one out of cardboard and painted it black I bet she wouldn't have even noticed, I've sold several PC's like this and no ones ever complained

Doesn't look like that one will work. Here's what the manual shows it to look like.

I would pound on ASUS customer service until they give one up- maybe a suggestion to a supervisor that you and your buddies may have to go to Gigabyte or Asrock for your/their next board will inspire the to "locate" one for you. They order these things by the crate and they are probably laying around all over the floor in their packaging/boxing department

I like the way Norton thinks. Tell them almost everyone on tpu might think they might switch to maybe another brand someday in the almost near future when we may have to maybe buy another board. Tell them we all are going to switch to Abit FTW.

This is an on-going project in my driveway (1979 C-10)- redid the motor as a rehab for wrist fusion surgery in the summer of 2009 (i.e. very slowly and carefully)...

The original had a 12" crack in the block, this is a 1970 350 crate motor pulled out of an old 427 Corvette that my uncle happened to have in his garage

Haven't done too much past this though.... never enough time or money for all of the toys
