Kingmax is still around? Wow. I bought some of their memory back in the day. At the time it was one of the few with a special red PCB. Was good stuff then. Just finally gave it away last week to a friend who needed some old RAM for a system.

I think those are supposed to be fancy mini-heat spreaders, hence the no need for large heat sinks or spreaders on a stick of gaming/performance RAM? Maybe?
Maybe some fancy 'nano surface' with high surface area for heat dissipation?

Don't knock on Kingmax, they have solid, very reliable RAM in my experience. Just because they don't come with the latest bling, doesn't mean they can't compete.
