Linux-Compatible X79 Board?
I'm embarking on my first build project and want to primarily boot Ubuntu (10.04 or 10.10). I'll likely have an XP partition as well for gaming. I'd like to go with the LGA 2011 socket with the new core i7 3820 CPU. It's been difficult to find confirmation of Linux compatibility with X79 boards. I know System76 is using the Intel DX79T0 in their top Linux desktop, so it's the top candidate for now. I'm curious is anyone else is running Linux on an X79 board? I'm also interested in the ASUS ROG Rampage IV but Linux remains a ? with that one.
A fallback plan is an X58 board such as ASUS ROG Rampage III with an i7 960 CPU. Any help is much appreciated. |

Just a matter of finding working drivers for the board components(Sound, lan, USB, etc).
