DEAD - New EVGA GTX 480 - $219.99

Yeah, yeah, I know. These things are silly hot and power hungry. Still, $219.99 is dirt cheap for that level of performance. No rebate hoops to jump through either. Both Tigerdirect and Newegg.

Oh, of course they lowered the price by 30 more bucks after I decided on another 460 for my folding farm.

You have to change your mind in like the first 30 minutes with newegg. Their stuff is usually at your door in 24 hours.

I wish, they have been shipping my stuff via "UPS 3 DAYS" which is actually UPS GROUND (has a black box instead of a 3 printed on the label as my UPS guy pointed out) shipping and I'm lucky if I even get it in 3 days or they even bother processing my order within 24 hours recently.

Somehow stuff from California gets to Florida a day earlier than from New Jersey as well. *shrugs*

That's really odd. The Cali stuff takes 5 days for me. From NJ to MD orders take 1-2 days max.

I've had stuff already arrive to me and called them because the price went down $20-30 within a week of buying it and had them give me a credit for my next order. Yeah it isn't a refund, but it is better than nothing.

And I've never had a problem with shipping times, I pay for 3 day and I always receive it within 3 days of them shipping it. Processing times are usually under 24 hours too, but they have been getting slightly longer. I used to be able to order buy 1PM and have the order shipped same day, now I have to order by 10AM or it won't ship until the next morning.

Yup yup just scored one new for same on eBay and literally could not be happier for the price. Especially with the 1.5GB vram. 5xx is presently overpriced even though it too is no longer a spring chicken. Kepler should drop it's prices but not 4xx series as much if at all I bet.

Fair amount of used ones to be had for around $200. Saw on on [H] the other day $210 shipped. This one at Newegg, now oos btw, was $250 until this deal. Glad mine is new too though this would've still been preferable for warranty (and maybe even Step Up...but probably not). And I might go water which makes any warranty moot...

Was it free shipping too? TD back up to $250.

Newegg's jacked it up to $299 so I'll change this to "dead" status.

Well it might as well say $499 cause they sold out at that price after being avail at $249 for awhile and that's surely all she wrote for 480 stock at The Egg.

Man thank god the one I just bought on eBay is brand new as well or this woulda been awful timing for me. Was looking at this one at Newegg beforehand but it was $258 shipped.
Can't believe there were any more available to refresh their stock.

One thing that hasn't dropped in price is waterblocks though. I want one but not about to spend more than half of what the whole card went for.

Edit: Speaking of eBay a pair of used eVGA 470s just went for $203. Kick ass deal but I am finding I very much need my 1.5GB vram in newer games so very happy with my 480.

Thank you for bringing this deal up, I just ordered two of these puppies to replace my aging 285s, you can't go wrong for $440, that's even cheaper than my other alternative (an XFX HD7950 black Ed) and way faster

What sold me though was Evga's step up program, I have 90 days to replace these cards for GTX680s and only pay the difference once they show up

Many thanks!

Nice. And yeah I considered the Step Up eligibility tho I probably wouldn't have done it. So you save $220 off the usually top-end pricing of a Kepler card at evga.com...how are you really coming out ahead there outside of getting two 480s to play with now?

It's definitely cool that SU exists but it's really a price guarantee of sorts for the unlucky or uninformed person who pays top dollar for last gen cards at the very end of their lives. Unless I'm missing something but I'm pretty sure I'm not and in fact have used the program myself to get my present mobo when I first bought an LE I wasn't happy with. Sure didn't save any cash in any way that I could figure but it was a nice and easier option to upgrade.
