Sorry I don't do round ups currently, seems against popular opinion of what people want from ram reviews. I have to do what the majority wants.

More reviews are incoming. Many people had questions about re-using current/existing ram on X79, I'm dealing with that first. The commmunity gets what the community asks for. Next review is a quad kit.

Very close performance-wise, with lower volts, lower cost, and better aftermarket cooling compatibility = yes. Do keep in mind that the kit is quite old, so although it's not exactly a direct compare, old tech vs. new, these Patriot sticks do have their uses too. When overclocked, the Patriot sticks offer more performance matches with OCing the CPU, matching every divider, so it really depends on what you are looking for.

Dave,

Thank you for the in-depth review.

Could you comment on how these Patriots below compare to your reviewed sticks?

Comparing model numbers I don't know what the 73 vs 53 indicates.

Patriot Viper Xtreme 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model PX7312G2000ELK :Patriot Viper Xtreme 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 S...

System Specs

PX7312G2000ELK: Enhanced Latency (9-11-9-27)

PC538G22000ELK: Enhanced Latency (9-10-9-27)

& might indicate teh paltform it's intended to run, not exactly sure, but those timing differences are what first caught my attention...

Nice work as usual Dave!
I have a set of Division 2 1866MHz sticks but couldn't figure why my system wouldn't boot up with memory timings all on auto so I just put them to the side for later use

Could be memory controller voltage, as I ran into. there's been a few posts on different occasions claiming that all ram will work in X79 jsut fine..which, technically, is true, however, some tweaking is needed to get there, and not everyone has the know-how.

Reviewing this kit provided me with the opportunity to show an instance of this happening, and it's not really a big deal to get up and running. Next review is a quad-channel kit, then I go back to an older kit, with 2 GB sticks.
