In that case, better buy a SATA-USB adapter (make sure it is USB 3.0 capable, which is not always the case) and attach a regular SSD to it.

What interface? I have some ancient ones around that include an USB interface. OCZ solid I think. I don't think they're not unique with that.

One of the reasons why i am looking for an external SSD is i've had so many issues with my previous external hdds. 1. I've had a 2.5inch Verbatim 500G that frequently disconnected from my computer because contacts between the USB2.0 connectors were not good. After a few months, it destroyed my external. (I am a heavy user of external HDDs) 2. i bought a very good 3.5inch ORICO 3519 external case back in 2011 and got myself a 1TB hard drive. it works very well and i like the design. However, it's not so easy to carry it around. so what i am really looking for is an external SSD with good USB3.0 controller chip, and preferably with USB3.0 Type A female connector on the device (i know this sounds weird but I've seen USB2.0 external hard drive with USB2.0 A female connector on the device). It looks more reliable and seems to have way more insertion rates than Type B and micro B. i want to be able to make my working files safe and easy to carry around when i travel. |
