No frontpage mobile voting? I wanted more, funny how everyone cried that a certain other card didn't double performance, but a 25% or less improvement here they love......

And the fact its months later, and their second generation of this series, evolution not revolution.

All the other added features are nice but enthusiests look for raw overclock performance. Why else do we overvolt, watercool, and tweak?

Spot on for what GK104 was supposed to be and a strong and efficient architecture, but what I really want to see is GK110. Must be a monster, both in performance and power consumption.

It doesn't really matter to me, but I was expecting more. Clock for clock the GTX 680 and HD 7970 are quite close. I was expecting a larger gap. I would of liked to possibly see more ram on the 680 as well at launch.

Would like to able to make 2 choice's; I was expecting more based on the all the hype but also doesn't really matter because i wont be upgrading untill either ATi/Nvidia get this performance to me for ~$300

I already have (2) 2GB cards with more than enough performance to last for quite some time and the GTX 680 hardly offers a significant improvement in my opinion, especially the fact that it now supports 3 monitors on a single card yet it still only has 2 GB of vram compared to the 7970's 3GB which will be quite a nice benefit with some of the eyefinity setups people try to run.

It's even better, considering this was supposed to be a mid-range and it performed so well nVidia felt it acceptable to release it as the top end and save the high-end chip. With the hype I was expecting it to perform similar to the HD7970, it surpassed that expectation. I was also expecting it to be priced like the HD7970, or more if it performed better, yet it was actually priced significantly lower, so it surpassed that expectation.

If you are refering to GTX580, depending on the reviews, games and resolutions it's anywhere from 25% to 35% better.

Don't know who loves this kind of improvement but hey, if it costs you the same as the top card you bought a year and half ago and comes with some nice added features it's not so bad.

It's 2 and half months later, don't know what you're saying about the second generation of this series. Kepler smokes Fermi in all aspects, I call this revolution.

And I don't plan to upgrade but after everything became clearer in the last month the performance of GK104 is spot on but of course I would have expected more from a card called GTX680.

"More" is certainly already up their sleeve and just waiting, for marketing and sale purposes more than anything. This is likely not their true top end. And I don't mean 6 months from now.

Nope, i was really hoping it would destroy the competition, it has 300% more shaders than the gtx580 and it's just 45-50% faster, yes offcourse it has low power consumption but as a gamer i don't care for that
I am waiting what gk100 brings us,
Plz give me the hot clocks back even when it's just 1mhz is 1,3 to 1,5 on the shaders

Yes spot on. It looks like an amazing card. For the price, performance, the new features, efficiency etc. It will be my next card.

Your forgetting that the shaders in the GTX680 compared to the 580 are a lot weaker, they did this so they could fit more and be more efficient and smaller. Its still a damn good performance card, and I love the way Nvidia has gone about it on the pricing front.

Kepler = win, however i thought the 680 was going to be 100/110

No progress on the high-end.

Yeah, if you look at only one game, but if you look at the overall picture, there certainly was progress on the high end:

No, and there's a simple reason. I won't be spending $500 on a card, ever.

Show me similar performance trumping in the mid-high range cards and I'll bite. Until something is released that I can actually purchase my expectations aren't met.

Considering I've got a 6950 with unlocked shaders, I'm going to be waiting for a while...

Unfortunately no. There is absolutely no reason for AMD to launch a higher clocked card, AIB partners are already doing that for a premium price.

Right where I expected it to fall. I would say I am happy with the performance it delivers. I am even happier that it is a very close race at 2560x1600 which is where I game at. So I am not completely butt hurt I have a 7970, although I would be upset with my purchase if I was running a lower resolution setup.
