Need help with weird issue.

Hi guys!

For the past few months, I've been experiencing some very noticeable texture pop in and shadow flickering in game. Every time I observe a shadow, it'll blink rapidly and whenever I run towards objects, they'll appear out of nowhere. I have a 5850, 11.8 drivers, and 32 bit Vista.

How do I fix this?

Thank you.

Could be the game itself. some games are well known for popping textures.

I thought that too, so I tested it with several different games.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Team Fortress 2, Bad Company 2, and Crysis 2 all had noticeable levels of texture/object pop in. As well as jagged shadows even with AA on.

Hi

All these games have been released for PS3 and Xbox 360, they may have been ported over to the PC which may explain why the quality of the shadow mapping and AA is less than desirable.

nb: If you get a chance next time you log in, fill in your system spec's in UserCP

atb (all the best)

make sure your CCC settings are at default/high quality as well, and not set to low/performance.

Not only that but update the driver as well. 11.8 is a bit long in the tooth and when I had that set it was giving me problems.

How should I upgrade? By going through the CCC built in update function or another way?

Uninstall your old drivers in the control panel and restart before installing new drivers. Texture pop in can be cause by the HDD too. Please list your system specifications.
