EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked Made Official

Only teased last week, EVGA's factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 680s are becoming a reality, with the first one to get make it out being the GTX 680 SuperClocked. The SC model is based around NVIDIA's reference design but has a base clock of 1058 MHz (1006 MHz stock), a boost clock of 1113 MHz (1058 MHz), and a memory frequency of 6208 MHz (6008 MHz).

The GeForce GTX 680 SC also packs 1536 CUDA Cores, a 256-bit memory interface, 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, a PCI-Express 3.0 bus interface, 3D Vision Surround and SLI support, and dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

The 'vanilla' GTX 680 SuperClocked costs $519.99 while its backplate-equipped sibling goes for $529.99. Both should become available very, very soon.

Good pricing for a factory OC'd card, same reported clock's as the other 1 bta posted the other day MSI it was I think? I wonder if that is a sign of what to expect?

Do you really think that is the only reason for a backplate?

I guess RAM heatspreaders are there only for rigidness.

The backplate alone cost $20. So for $10 more over stock, is not bad for people who wants a backplate included.

Nice card, but I would rather like to get a proprietary PCB and cooler instead of the reference kit .... =/

You do realize in all actual gaming it is only 7% on average faster, despite its already 9% higher base clocks and 17% higher boost clocks? So saying it is more efficient when we level out the clock speeds is just false.

It has equal or higher power consumption at everything but max load, which most games won't hit, and blu-ray.

It is now creeping up in price, not due to Nvidia, but due to retailers. Same thing that happened to the 7970.

Don't get me wrong it is a awesome card, but comparing this minor OC to almost every 7970 has hit 1200Mhz with a minor voltage bump, and that makes the 680 pee its panties.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/N...TX_680/31.html

default voltage was used on the 7970 1075, increased voltage on the 680.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/P...S_Plus/30.html

This 7950 with tuning will outperform a 680 out of the box at the same frequency for less money by a average of 4% if you want to look at bang for the buck.

your right... so by your logic, if we downclock a 7950 to gtx 580 clocks, it would be slower so therefore the 580 is the faster card.

GTX580 clocked at 770 mhz and hd6970 880mhz ? R u comparing much different technology's by clock??h

so if we rising up gtx580 clock in last gen to 6970 clock amd go to hell bro W T F

with much lower voltage in GTX680 you can reach to 1300~1400mhz and then the tahiti go to something LIKe piece of trash bro

hd7970 has 4.3 billion transistor and GK104 just about 3.5 billion - most efficient gpu ever built

if you wanna real comparing to this baby- so w8 for GK110/100

you don't even need to compare it to AMD cards its only like 50Mhz on the core without boost and for EVGA's superclocked card which is stock 1000mhz thats a sad oc and is not worth the extra 10 bucks even with that plate

theres gonna be alot more highly overclocked cards for the same price or less by the time the cards start to really trickle down

to pioneer, . . . . . . . . fail, theres a difference between a stock overclock and a overclock you do your self which is never gaurenteed, they can overclock their cards to 1700mhz if they wanted to, that dosen't mean your card can.

BEST OCED RADEON HD 7970 LIGHTNING VS REFERENCE GEFORCE GTX 680, GEFORCE WINS!

GeForce GTX 680, no voltage tweaks, only ocing out of the box: 1250/6400 MHz ...

MSI Radeon HD 7970, no voltage tweaks, only ocing out of the box: 1200/7000 MHz

now with OC

GeForce GTX 680 at max, 1.18V - 1325/6600 MHz

MSI Radeon HD 7970 Lightning on max, 1.35V - 1300/7600 MHz

Score/Performance is +/- the same. BUT, Radeon is noisy as HELL with Power consuption with 1.35V (whole PC) 546W in that benchmark. GeForce GTX 680 with cheapo reference cooler is colder and still silent card. Power Consuption of GTX 680 at 1.18V (whole PC) is only 383W!!!. GeForce is winner here, the same performce with 163W better power consuption ... when reference GTX 680 better then best HD 7970 on market, imagine GTX 680 Lightning with better VRM ... will be absolute monster.

546w vs 383W = 42% Deffrences

with quiter than - cooler than -nether by stock cooler

EPIC LOL

I think I missed the funny part. All I see is a 3DMark 11 benchmark where the Nvidia card is doing what it is supposed to be doing according to just about every review site out there. Congratulations? This has nothing to do with the topic at hand either.
