Does the brand of GTX 680 matters?

none of my local shops got EVGA in their store but i can pick up a KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 for the same price as the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 but does that really matter when we talk RMA, Warranties and so on?

ino EVGA allows u to change gfx cooler on ur card without damaging the warrenty, the only thing i can find about KFA2 is this:

Please note: that all KFA2 products come with a two year standard warranty - To validate your warranty please register your product within 30 days from date of purchase. A copy of a valid receipt is needed to complete registration.

EVGA seems better with its warranty period of 3 years(limited) against 2 years from KFA2.. also they seem to be readying a new uniform 'global' warranty policy across the globe - click here or here
more info will be revealed on April 2nd..

problem is just that they r all in back-order aka not available to buy atm plus it will be a little more expensive getting it shipped to me than what i can pick up a KFA2 for at my local store :/

Stick with your 570 until you can get the EVGA. Peace of mind knowing you can swap coolers and having a better warranty is worth the wait in my opinion. Just my $0.02.

well... you probably will not be swapping coolers since the stock is pretty good, so I would go with whatever mFG has the best support/warranty.

i have been thinking about a backplate for the GTX680 at some point, but that will just come later.

Damn...the poll seems kind of one sided doesn't it? EVGA seems to be the clear winner here.

My .02; planning on moving from the 680 within a 2 year time frame? Go with the KFA2 if it's relatively cheaper.

im pretty sure Evga's is lifetime. just not its tied to the card rather then the owners account, so now the person you sell it too the warrenty transfers easily.

also, it depends on the region, currently EVGA's limited Lifetime warranties dont apply to EMEA countries. but only to USA & Canada on certain product codes... similarly APAC & LATAM countries differ too..

however with the new 'globalised' warranty policy coming in April(02), we will see some changes.. lets hope its a good one!

If you look at any site or any distributor EVGA's warranty is 3 years for the 680. I do not think they are doing any more lifetime warranties.

Both (KFA and EVGA) have limited warranties. The EVGA card is not an '-AR' aka lifetime warranty.
So, probably does not matter too much.

than u must look at the us site evga.com but i am in europe so i use eu.evga.com and it ends with -KR

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 (02G-P4-2680-KR)

or do i need new glasses instead?

I don't think you understood; I said it doesn't matter, since the gtx 680 currently offered by EVGA is not an '-AR' lifetime warranty part, which implies that it is a limited warranty '-KR' part. The KFA2 is also a limited warranty, and they're both reference designs, so it doesn't matter which one you choose.

Lost in translation somewhere.
