Whats your point .. the SSD is still A better deal even if all your prices are doubled.
I meant for SSDs...

This was solved with TRIM.

Step out of 2007 and into 2012!

A full SSD will still be faster!

What am I gonna do with that when I start hitting it with multiple IO request and it starts to crawl like a spinner?

you don't store 200+ gb's of games on a SSD.

Besides MMO's and BF3/Skyrim games don't benefit much from an SSD cause once everything is loaded you are in main memory.

How many VelociRaptors does it take to hit 1gb/s? I can tell you it only takes two Corsair Force GTs and with everything loaded up, I'm only using half of my RAID-0 2x120Gb SSD alternatively, everything where speeds don't matter as much, I have a RAID-5 which I know will save me if a drive fails. 1TB velociraptor is nice for someone who wants to throw everything on one drive and wants something a bit better than 7200 RPM drives. It is no SSD replacement.

No it wasn't fixed 100%. Check Anand or Tomshardware reviews for this...

TRIM doesn't improve performance *that* much, and when it comes to games you're hitting reads a lot more than writes, so TRIM isn't going to benefit you in most cases with video games anyways. TRIM isn't a magical cure that mades SSDs perfect. It's an improvement, yes, however the perf difference is only something like 15%.

I have been using an Intel X25-M ssd as a bootdrive since late '09. I have not noticed any dramatic slowdowns.
No obvious slowdowns on my new HyperX game SSD either. Been using it since Dec. 2011.
TRIM seems to be working for me.

You get slowdowns in benchmarks, but in real world usage SSDs are so fast that even if they do degrade, they are still a vast improvement ofer platter based hdds.
