Corsair Adds Cooling Fans to Product Line

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the new Air Series line of PC cooling fans. Unlike most other PC fans in the market, Corsair Air Series fans are offered in airflow and static pressure models, each specifically optimized for specific PC cooling roles.

Air Series fans are designed to deliver an extraordinary balance of airflow and low-noise to users who want to upgrade their PCs for quieter operation or higher performance. All feature an advanced hydraulic bearing system and rubber mounts for low-noise and reliability, and include red, white, and blue color rings to allow users to customize the look of their PC.

High Airflow Fans for Efficient Large-Volume Cooling
Air Series AF120 and AF140 airflow fans are designed to intake cool air into, and exhaust hot air out of, modern PCs. They are for ideal for mounting on the side, top, and rear of cases, to reduce component-killing heat. The airflow fans are designed with ultra-thin, custom-molded blades optimized to flow high volumes of air in unrestricted spaces with at least 3cm of clearance. They are available in a 140mm Quiet edition and in 120mm Quiet and Performance editions.

High Static Pressure Fans for Efficient Cooling on Radiators or Heatsinks
Air Series SP120 fans deliver focused air pressure in situations where air needs to be blown through a restricted space making them ideal for cooling radiators and heatsinks. They feature seven ultra-wide, custom-molded blades and a custom enclosure that delivers high static pressure, while maintaining a quiet noise profile. Available in a 120mm size, SP120 fans are available in Quiet and High Performance editions.

if this is the first time corsair expanding, I would banghead like u too, but most of non-core corsair products (assuming RAM and Flash memory are their core products) are great. Their PSUs are great, their cases are great, their mice/keyboard are good (although it's not to my liking), their AIO Water Coolers are also good although expensive, even their speaker/headset got positive reviews (idk, never heard it myself). Maybe not the best, but still great. What's not to like?

they remind me of Kingwin fans, also Corsair has been buying their cooler from OEMs(Cool-it, Asetek) and selling them. I am a big fan of corsair products but only semi-conductor products. and I wouldnt complain about my Corsair SSD, Memories they are fantastic. This expansion can ultimately lead to financial troubles.

How exactly is this diverging from their core business? They produce computer memory (both RAM and flash storage), SSD Hard Drives, PC Speakers and Headphones, PC cases, Power Supplies and now fans. NONE of those original (pre cooling) things has ANYTHING in common except they're all PC components.

Corsair makes PC stuff. They didnt diverge from anything.

Corsair was started in 1992, developed and sold L2 Cache memories. since then they have a reputation for manufacturing memories. they did diversify the business to start selling cases, psu and other stuff recently.

that AF-140 case fan sounds interesting.

I run 1500rpm 140mm silverstone Air Penetrators. but the AF-140 moves more air despite being slower by 350rpm.

may have to grab myself a few for a demo.

Am I the only thats noticing the aweful CG on the color inlays. If they are actually machined like that where they are bendable they should just take it out because it just looks aweful that its not smooth all around. Once the case is close it could cause turbulance or over time just come off. They dont show it hold together firmly. just 4 small inner tracks and a bend in at the corners. Not trusting that just too have a color inlay just IMHO.

Aside from that the AF-140s look appealing.

CG? It looks like white lighting to me? The piece of removable plastic is for aesthetic reasons, make sense to me.
As for quality and longevity, I'm pretty sure Corsair designed the removable piece up to par, Corsair isn't some crappy low quality company.
They make quality items and have great support if something goes wrong.
Why are people being so nit picky about these fans?
Let me see you "corsair fan haters" design and make a better fan and then I'll give 2 poops about your nonsense filled post(s).
