Key Details About PowerColor HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 Surface
We've been hearing about PowerColor's Radeon HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 dual-GPU graphics card since late-May. A little earlier at Computex, we got to see the card taken apart. We spoke at lengths to reliable sources about the card. To begin with, PowerColor plans to clock the two "Tahiti" GPUs in excess of 1050 MHz (above even the single-GPU HD 7970, and its 925 MHz core clock). Next up, PowerColor will manufacture the card in limited quantities, and will release it to market towards the end of July. Lastly, the PowerColor HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 will be priced around €1,200 (including VAT), its US pricing will be around $1,200. You've heard it first on TechPowerUp!

Never liked these cards from PowerColor. The Devil13 HD6970 was a terrible overclocker compering to stock-priced cards like the Sapphire Dual-fan

lol & lol
I would never pay 1200 for 2x 7970s. & MARS III will be 1500 - 1800 ez .. every MARS and ARIES have been so overpriced. But i dont get where Power Color thinks their S#1+ dont stink .. the first devil 13 (6970) came out it was 130.00 more then the MSI Lighthing witch was faster and quieter

You've stopped taking your meds again, haven't you?!
But seriously, these prices are absurd. Makes the 690 look positively cheap. I agree entirely. I think the current pricing alone for the 680 is bad enough. This round AMD set the price bar and since then we've all been paying the price.

Late July.. hm.. and $1200
![]() So when does the AMD designed dual GPU arrived? 7990 or whatever it will be named? Back in April certain Turkish website said that it will be launched at Computex, but until this day we heard nothing about it. We still have 2 days until Computex ends though ![]() And, FYI, the same Turkish website a few hours ago claimed that AMD now focused on Radeon 8000 series. Interesting... |

You complain about 680 being overpriced when its like at least 30 faster than a gtx580 which costed just as much 6 month ago Now you get gtx580 performance for 350 from an hd7870-7950 Tho 7870 is still priced high because of no competition Another factor to consider also is how much more efficient these cards are compared to last Gen so if anything the gtx680 is just about right in terms of pricing and on top of that it pushed hd7970 below 500$, heck no I wouldn't spend that much on a graphic card but I never did neways, mid-high end cards are always better in price performance and if anything right now the gtx670 totally rocks in that aspect, but yes still expensive for my liking, but then I don't require such performance, Hd7870 is more than I need, but that's just me I guess Once we start seeing cards like hd7850 for like 160-180 and hd7870 for like 200-250 then I would consider buying, but for those with 500$+ budget prices there are already settled unless amd releases a faster card for 500$ which is very unlikely Last edited by sergionography; Jun 8, 2012 at 11:44 AM. |

I wonder when Asus will release their own superpowered 7990 ARES edition.
Also, these cards are hitting insane price points. ![]() E-peen is serious business, I guess!

Pricing this at $1200 is utter stupidity. Needs to be $800 to have any chance at being a better option than the GTX 690.
At BEST, it will match a 690 in terms of performance, but at the cost of a ton more power, probably more driver weirdness (though not necessarily the card's fault, obviously), and an extra slot of space. More likely it will be struggling to match the 690, yet carry the same price tag. What are they thinking? |

But the 680 is now sitting at a higher price point compared to where the 580 was and the 7970 is substantially cheaper (though worryingly it is creeping back up in price ).I still say the 680 is well overpriced. Now the 670 - that is very well priced all things considered. Nvidia should just give up on the 680, the 670 has replaced it in terms of good value and availability.

Clock boost. The standard setting is 925MHz. Press the red button for overclock.
