USB Drive recommendation

Dear TPU,

I have recently found myself in bit of a hassle with an extremely slow USB drive. Thinking that I'm a genius, I decided to buy a Sandisk 8GB drive for £5 (it was on sale) and soon after, I realised just how slow this thing was. Because I often end up copying rather large amounts of data on my USB, this thing has been an incredible pain in the arse.

And so, I went to google and began my research. After a shitload of charts and website, I concluded that a very affordable Trascend JetFlash 700 might suit me but I thought "I might as well go to TPU and see what they've got to say"; and so, here I am.

My criteria isn't vast - fastest writing/reading speeds while remaining affordable. USB 3.0 is an advantage since I plan on using this USB for the years to come. Size-wise I was thinking of going for the 32 Gb which is only £25 on Amazon (The JetFlash).

So, what do you think guys? Should I buy it or are there better options out there?

I guess my budget extends to about £30 but if its really worth it, I'll go up to £50 (but this shit must really be awesome).

Make sure it's USB 3.0 I guess? Kingston, SuperTalent, Sandisk, Patriot, Imation, Corsair, Transcend...

corsair or patriot brands in usb3 form will be good.

Id stay away from the Corsair Voyager drive... Big issues with them and I had my share also.

I use an A-Data 3.0 drive and its built sturdy and is quite fast and the price is cheap enough to say WTH? such a great stick but why so cheap! And Wouldnt ya know its on sale

Well, thanks for all the advice guys.
In the end went for Patriot Supersonic as it has the best W/R speed ratio for the price point (70MB/s and 100MB/s respectively when using USB 3.0). Since I'm yet to try it with 3.0, I can't confirm the statistic but when using with 2.0, it writes at a nifty 30MB/s which is swell (compared to my old 3.6MB/s ). Interestingly enough, this drive is apparently made from aluminium and it feels super light despite the fact that the actual USB feels like its made from coated plastic (kind of brushed but its difficult to explain the actual texture) and you can only tell that its aluminium if you bang it against another piece of metal. Overall, I'm very pleased with the drive and can't wait to try it on 3.0 to unleash its true power.
