Sapphire Prepares New Toxic and Vapor-X Graphics Card Models

Following the announcement by AMD of the availability of the HD 7970 GHz Edition, the latest product using its highly acclaimed Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, SAPPHIRE Technology, one of the World's leading manufacturers and a global supplier of graphics cards, is happy to announce that this latest generation of GPUs from AMD will form the basis of several cutting edge new models.

Within the next few weeks, SAPPHIRE will introduce the eagerly awaited TOXIC Edition and Vapor-X models in its HD 7970 family. The TOXIC Edition is a limited edition factory overclocked model – delivering best in class performance and targeted at the enthusiast. The Vapor-X models use SAPPHIRE’s exclusive Vapour Chamber cooling technology to deliver optimised performance whilst retaining low noise and cool operation.

Full specifications will be announced as the products become available.

Nice, I guess we can expect better results in noise production then with the standard edition.
Lets hope the can also squeeze even more performance out of the cards without increasing the power consumption (much).

I've had Toxic card before and was vastly disappointed by the Vapor-X tech they boast about so much. It was freakin hot and noisy card. No thanks.

Its implementation on the 7770 seemed pretty nice. Think of it as saphires version of the lightning.

I've had 5850 TOXIC and it was good card, good OC and temps, also not so noisy for me.

Apparently their TOXIC card quality declining since entering 6000 series.
Friend of mine complaining about noise and heat coming from his Sapphire 6950 TOXIC.

Yeah, i've had HD6870 Toxic. It was fast, almost as fast as HD6950, no denying that, but the damn thing was deafeningly loud and as soon as i dropped the fan speed, it got so hot it often locked up.
Changed it for HD6950 TwinFrozr III and couldn't be any happier. It's fast, good quality, cool and silent. It needed some fan tweaking as well but it's now silent and doesn't overheat.

vapor x is the best air cooling out there that is produced en masse, dont understand the criticism. Personally owned 3 vapor x cards and they stayed cool under load while barely audible.
