Samsung HDD causing problems...

Hey guys, my samsung HDD been acting really strange lately.
At first my PC started to get stuck on "Starting windows" screen at boot and after a while it would stay there for hours.
So I decided to just reinstall windows. After the installation was almost complete it would always get stuck on "Completing installation".
So after fucking around for hours I discovered my samsung HDD was causing all of this. And I could install windows without a problem if I disconnected it.
Now, I assume if I reconnect it again my PC won't boot ( I forgot to mention I have 2 hdds 1 samsung and 1 western digital).
So the question is way could possibly be the problem and how do I fix it?
Thank you,.

You have posted the same thread twice....

you might be able to boot as long as your good drive is set to boot first and disable other boot devices, otherwise you could hot plug the drive when in Windows, I have done this with a failing drive to get the data off it.

That said your best bet might be something like hirens boot CD and scanning the drive before you boot into Windows.

I've had hard drives go like that in the past as they die.

First thing I'd do is boot your PC with it unplugged from the sata cable then once the OS is fully loaded plug it in and backup any files you want to save.

Then I would also try to follow these instructions just in case you've got some corruption in a sensitive area on your disk - if it finds some errors then that could fix your problems.

Dunno some dude in another forum said that sometimes the drives on the HDD don't always completely reset and I should try wiping the first and last xxx sectors...
Yeah... I don't really know how to do that.

Depending on how confident you are in diagnosing this issue, you can (after running chkdsk mentioned above) download Ultimate Boot CD and use the plethora of HDD diagnosis tools. There are even Samsung tools on it for testing the drive's integrity. That'll definitely tell you what is wrong and possible amend it.

Be prepared to have to purchase a new drive.
