It's strange that it reverts to 100.5 every time. Is it just in overdrive or is it shown when you enter the 2nd time in the bios as 100.5 as well?

I wouldn't worry much though because a 0.5 is very little. I've occasionally set my pci-e to 101 and to 103 and nothing bad ever happened..

I have seen those settings but always left them. A google search did show me much. So moving that setting up overclocks you pci or something?

Yes, but once I read you shouldn't go over 105. I read this a long time ago so I don't know if it still holds water. What I know for sure is that before overclocking you should lock the pci-e frequency to 100 in the bios (and not leave it on auto) otherwise the pci-e frequency will overclock itself as well (probably quite a lot) and ruin the slot.

This just makes me wonder why it is even there. If no one uses it, why have the setting available to change.

No is just a normal thing that i know you also have a same thing at least if you OC your CPU also your ram and the pci e will rise up on speeds, so i before set oc on cpu was running my gpu and mem on grafic card as i posted 790 and 1075 and my pci e was normal 100, since i up my cpu speed its automaticly set at 100.50 and my ram is 832.0 is abaut 16xx Mhz DDR3 my mem is 1600 stock, and cpu is 3.0 but now is running at 3120Ghz and turbo it go up to 3560Ghz, its all normal caus its oc, my cpu temps are 28-27 idle and max in games like bf3 it go up to 41-42c and in programs its max to 30-32, so no big deal, as you can see the tmps are not bad in all cases, i just try figure out if is normal this 100.50 if its in some waymake diference to perfomance +/-

thanks bud !

Ya. On sandy bridge systems it is locked at 100 by default I think. I have an i5 and no interest in overclocking my ram so I think I am fine how I am.
