Problem Updating ATI radeon HD 4600

(Im not realy that good with tech so sorry if I lack any details)

Hi I have been trying to update my graphics driver ATI radeon HD 4600 series. But after the update and my computer has restarted, my monitor just goes into its stand by mode and gives me a blank screen, with no way to get out of it than restarting and going into safe mode. I have tried Uninstalling it and installing a new driver but when I checked the driver had not changed. I've been going through numerous forums and web sites to see if there is a solution to no avail.

My computer specs are:
CPU speed: 3.1 GHz
RAM: 3.1 GB
OS: Microsoft XP (service pack 3)

Hope thats enough. Thanks for reading and hope you can help.

Thanks for the guide. And also I have tried the catalyst control centre and downloading the right drivers but nothing seemed to work. I'm pretty sure it might be I just aint uninstalling the old driver correctly.

No problem. The guide will walk you through removing the old driver. A problem I found in the guide is the link to get Drive Sweeper takes you to the Phyxion.net web site which is defunct. You won't be able to get it there but try this link when you are ready to download it.

Drive Sweeper

Also the link INSTG8R gave you is the correct driver for your card.
