Very impressive that applications installed in Windows 3.0 still work on Vista.

Great find. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that video and find it amazing that Windows 7 was able to run programs installed from much earlier Windows installations. I give Microsoft some credit for that.

23 years of compatibility and Apple can't even manage half a decade before dumping an OS and dumping compatibility modes. But what I find funny is that Apple has a closed hardware system and can't even manage that. Should have it easier than M$.

They are kinda opposites. M$ is good with software compatibility in the long run but can't make hardware worth a darn. Apple...makes machines designed to last a long time, well...they used to, but discontinues software as soon as possible.

You can't upgrade to win 2k from Win ME so they skipped it.

I watched it some time ago in full screen.

But yah this is cool stuff. It's like when a friend bought a new computer with Windows 7 and complained that he had to run the programming software he bought in 1995 in admin mode. I pointed out that the program was 16 years old and still worked, which is sort of amazing.
