Problem with gothic 3 post patch

So I just bought Gothic 3 from gog.com and installed the cm1.73, my rig has plenty of horsepower to run the game yet it lags, a lot. Any possible soulutions?

plenty of power is rather relative...
fill out your specs.
have you tried to tweak the graphics settings?
i remember gothic 3 to be VERY demanding.

Get the CM 1.75 (or it may even be 1.76).

That will sort out your stuttering problems (providing your PC is up to scratch).

Because of the inefficient design of the Gothic 3 engine when it was released, it was VERY demanding and in its vanilla form no computer no matter how powerful, would be able to run it well. However, The CM patch team have made alterations to the way that the engine uses reources, and with the latest patch, + the community mods (2.4), the game looks stunning and ran like a dream, at least on my setup. (gfx card not so important as large RAM and fast CPU)
