Time for DDD to get a new mouse :3

So my 4 year old awesome Acer mouse passes away yesterday. The rubber on its mouse wheel had already melted and then yesterday the buttons stopped working properly.

i dont do a lot of FPS gaming, mostly restricted to GTA 4 and COD MW3.

i am looking for the cheapest and the most durable of the lot. (budget Rs. 1000)
i have had bad luck with mouses. all the other mouses i bought after the Acer one has passed away.

refer to http://www.flipkart.com/computers/la...&_pop=brdcrumb

as thats where i will be buying from.

im looking at the Logitech M185 blue.

thanks!

What would you consider cheap? I have a M60 and it's amazing! It's part aluminum, and the parts that are plastic still feel very study. I got mine for $60, and I think sneekypeet is selling on on here for $45, but I'm sure shipping to india would cost a lot.

known of Atek a while, their products do what they say they do. That mouse looks decent, might as well try it.

The Atek is an ancient A4Tech design the same as OCZ used for their Equalizer gaming mice which are by all means straight up horrible. Save up a little longer and get a Logitech G300 I see that is only 1600 RS. And that mouse is only semi-bad. Unfortunately there are not a lot of good gaming mice below €30 (and I have no idea why most of the components are quite cheap).

Cheers,
Fred

+1 for the G500, a G400 is also a nice mouse...

the G300 has had mixed reviews however, there is some talk about it being smaller then the G400 & G500 so it might not suit your grip.

Ive been rocking a G500 for 2years or so and apart from an initial squeeking sound when pressing the left mouse button which was fixed by a small blast of chain lubricant and left a few days to completely dry it has been an excellent gaming mouse. However I do prefer my Logitech G7 a little more but Logitech dont make them anymore.

The only gaming mice that site has under Rs 1000 are...

Atek 7 Key
http://www.flipkart.com/atek-7-key-s...7-8773f116c238

...and

Genius Navigator G500
http://www.flipkart.com/genius-navig...4-4ed1f2fd8824

You'd be gambling with either frankly. If your Acer was OEM with a PC, that's likely why it lasted 3 years vs 1 or 2. Don't expect made for gaming mice in that price range to last as long.

For a bit more, I would advise this one.

doesnt need to be a gaming mouse. i hardly get time to play FPS games anymore.
but i do a lot of CAD work, so the pads must be super smooth.

I use M60 on Razer Goliathus (speed). The smoothness is superb.
M60 is a great mouse with solid aluminum body and large multiple Teflon feet.
I still recommend this despite the fact that you are saying repeatedly you don't want a gaming mouse.
The truth is, it feels good in your hand the moment you touch it. You don't need to play a game to see how it shines.

well a higher DPI mouse you'd need a steadier hand as a slight movement can cause issues.

I would of recommended a Logitech MX510 or 518 but they aren't sold anymore...

Get your bog standard HP/Dell, they are pretty decent. Change the feet if it doesn't glide well enough. I went from using my Sidewinder X5 to MX Performance to HP el cheapo within a month, didn't see statistically significant drop in my gaming performance. Can't comment on precision works though, but that can be fixed using low DPI setting. Back to X5 now, I like the size.

I still use low dpi mice, but only b/c I started gaming when mice still had balls. I'm still used to the low DPI settings (around 400-800) but when I do use a higher DPI mouse I can definitely notice how much more accurate it is when I turn its speed sensitivity down in games and such as opposed to a lower DPI mouse with the speed sensitivity turned up. Though I usually also turn on mouse smoothing in games and windows as well.

Right now I'm using this old thing...

The bottom glows red too lol. Its "up to" 800DPI and I have to turn the speed up on it.

I have an HP mouse that is 1200DPI I think. Its more sensitive and I don't need to crank the speed up as much but its also more accurate at the same time... Both mice are a far cry from the first one I used...

As far as wireless mice go, I've used this one for gaming and had no issues, and the battery lasted freaking forever!

A bit expensive though... overall though Logitech is usually a safe bet.
