SSD Prices may go up

In Maximum pc mag there was an article about Samsung and Toshiba stopping production on SSD drives. In order to drive up prices. Something about external USB drive market has stagnated. I tried to fine the article online but its not there yet

toshiba said that they would reduce theyr flash memory production..

That is one of the reason why I would like to buy a big SSD ..

they are not 'stopping' production, Just slowing down.

at this stage they will want to slow things down a little but the demand has definitely increased due to the likes of ultrabooks/ultraportable laptops emerging on the market.

Once all the excess stock clears service will carry on as normal.

as for as prices going up, it could go either way, its too early to speculate at this point. Its not like Hard drives where WD and Segate played the market to increase prices due to the floods. just because they are scaling back production doesnt mean prices will change,
