Ratoc Systems Unveils 2-bay Enclosure/NAS

Ratoc Systems unveiled the RS-EC32-CLD, a 2-bay 3.5-inch SATA drive enclosure that works as both a USB 3.0 RAID enclosure, and a RAID-enabled NAS. The enclosure offers RAID 0, 1, JBOD modes, with the ability to hot-swap drives in RAID 1 mode. When connected via USB 3.0, the enclosure behaves as a USB mass-storage device. As a NAS, it supports basic features and protocols, including remote access over internet. Measuring 81 x 173 x 123 mm (WxDxH), and made mostly of SECC steel, its dry-weight is around 820 g. Slated for early-October, it is priced at 16,800 JPY (US $214).
