I just bought a phenom ii x4 3.4+mobo and a HD5770 both have very noisy fans I hate it. My older pc was noisy as well I promess myself my next one will be on water cooling and silent but I have low budget so I couldn't buy the water cooling.

computer is running slower then expect which was the drop que derramo el vaso. I want to know if I can help with the noise rather then spending more money what are you suggestions is it underclock?

Check the bios for fan control. Or buy quieter fans

Use a noise dampened case or give it a few days so you will grow accustomed to it.
It will get better, trust me.

or maybe the fan oil get dry
just add 2 drops then the noise is gone

have you cleaned them lately?

Which brand do you have? On the 5770 I mean. I had that card and it was pretty quiet.

Its a 5770 CuCore card

CCC will lower the fan speed also. Or you can turn the music up

First, replace the cooler on the CPU with something that isn't stock or stock like. The stock coolers are loud. Get something like a Xigmatek Gaia SD1283, they are like $20 with free shipping over a newegg.

Then, use a better fan profile with the HD5770. Try MSI afterburner and use that to make a less drastic fan profile. Of course monitor temps here, you don't want the card to overheat just because it is loud.

Learn Not To Burn

If you are really interested in having a cool and quiet computer, there are dozens of free programs to monitor temps and control fan speeds, so find which ones work best with your rig and use them to figure out why it's so noisy. Maybe it's not even running that hot, just has fan settings too high in BIOS. Maybe it's caused by a CPU fan with a bad RPM signal, or whatever. You won't know until you do the research, and after that it should be obvious. This forum has a download section for utilities and such that may be helpful, or you can always Google it. Good luck!

ok what is your ambient room temperatures, is the machine clean? and Also another thing that comes into play is the room the machine is in, acoustics/reverberation/echo can make stuff sound louder than it really is

I don't think my room setup affects the sound I know the difference when I shut down the computer is being in another dimension which is the one I wanna stay on. :p

My Bros machine is using a Phenom X4 B55 on stock cooling and a Sapphire 6770 which is the same as a 5770 and is quiet so im not sure why yours is having such an issue

Specs

Thermaltake V9 Case

Antec Earthwatts Green 650 W PSU

AsRock 970 Extreme 4

AMD Phenom II X4 B55

8 GB 1600 MHz GSkill 1.5V

Sapphire Radeon 6770

500 GB Seagate 7200.12 Drive

2 Multi Format Samsung Burners (Not Blue Ray)

I know how to adjust the fan speed thanks Brandon, I guess my next question will be what are the recommended temperatures to keep the gpu at, apparently they run at 60degrees idle at 35% fan speed.

60 Degrees C or F

70c is ok

ok for the 6770 GPU Here with the 12.8s, the GPU at Idle is at 157MHz and Ram is at 300MHz, with the Temperature at 34 C and Fan at 32%.

this is with the ambient room temperature at 23.3~ C or 74 Degrees F

since the 6770 is a rebadged 5770 temps shouldnt be different really

Get watercooling with low speed fans or get a pair of big heatsinks. Outside of that welcome to OEM cooling land.
