Mobo upgrade -fatality z77 pro m or Maximus 5 gene m?

Which one would you go for if you wanted to upgrade, narrowed it down to these two, the board I have was only a stand in to get me back online and will sell it when I buy new board next week.
The asus is 60$ more though, is it worth it .
As rock-195$
Asus-260$

I just noticed the Msi z77 m power is 220$ had no exp wit msi tho.
Sell. One I have for 50-60$ so that can cover extra etc.

Unless you need to shove it into a mATX case, I would get the ASRock board but I'm sure both will will the role you're looking for it to fill very well. The ASUS board has a 8+2+2 phase VRM where the ASRock board has more PCI-E slots and a 16+2+2+2 VRM power design. I think if you have the room to spare, the ASRock might be the better deal.

The asrock is the Matx version, has to be to fit case I'm making atm, as rock is 8 plus 3 asus is 8 plus 4 power phase,( according to website buying from etc ) maybe spend more n get asus.? only need one or two pcie and onboard sound is fine way good enough for me, running revit, sketchup pro and in design 5 plus gaming at 1080 .
And the red n black goes with new case theme etc too.

I would pick the ASRock over the ASUS due to price and performance.

Honestly I think the ASRock would do as much if not more than the Asus board.

Ok, thanx for the opinion, actually ive never tried asrock, so maybe its time, been hearing good things about em lately. could spend the 60 diff towards ssd too . cheers.

They are some strong boards! I have owned quite a few and non has let me down.

good to know, im disappointed with the board[asus] i just bought,[chit ocler] but, it was pretty cheap[89$] and at the time i knew it would go wen had more $$$ , i might see if someone wants it here for 50$ next week maybe. il post some pics when i buy new board and its installed in case im making in my case project thread .thanx again, think il go with asrock , why not aye.
youve done good by an old aussie geezer! the specs pages on sales websites claim these boards will take you to the frigging moon and back, but a users op is invaluable to me.

You tend to get more when you pay more for a motherboard within the same brand (but in general as well, not all cases). A 50 dollars mobo isn't going to be great at OCing and you should know that going into it. I spent something like 360 USD for my P9X79 Deluxe at the time and the thing is amazing. It exceeded all of my expectations and it definitely has raised the bar on what I would consider for any future motherboard.

Thats the exact one i had my eyes on! shame we dont get newegg in aus,
still, its 60$ cheaper than asus max5 gene v m atx here in aus.

, its done the job tho in the mean time, so im gr8ful for that, it did get up to 4.4 b4 bsod lol. i hear you , you have to spend $$$ =its true, not just buying it to oc either, to run some heavy enuf progs too.

want to get the best m atx i can , the asus gene v is tempting, has lots of good features included, this is a hard one hehe,.

it helps having you guys input really, im still learning this stuff,
