gtx 690?

Don't know what other options you have besides going sli with 2 cards. I came from 2x 6970's. A 690 pushes more frames than them.

yeah i dont think there is a single nvidia GPU that will beat that setup. the GTX680 will come close, but not quite.

^that.

An overclocked GTX 680 may get very close, but it will also slash your power draw by more than half, rid you of micro-stutter, and multi-GPU non-optimized games.

"beat" in the sense, raw FPS wise (or benchmark score wise) or game-play smoothness wise?

even a GTX670 would beat that. i went from the same setup to a GTX670, and even though the benches give a lower score, game-play (smoothness, heat, stuttering, noise, electricity bill wise) has been absolutely awesome.

GTX680 would be better, but the price might not justify the gains.

just my 2 cents.

It's funny you say that, so I'm guessing your'e upgrading your machine to those too?

I have two dollars to your two cents

i missed a part. even a GTX670 would beat that "if you are looking to get a much better game-play experience; but not if you are looking to get a higher raw FPS count".

lol, caught you on that haha, no worries

but anyways if a 680 doesnt quite beat the 6950s why spend extra cash when there is diminishing returns on computer hardware in resale. Save the Money and use it on something more meaningful

If the OP isn't having the nightmares of running a Crossfire setup (micro-stuttering, driver problems, negative or 0 scaling - all of which I encountered BTW, hence the side-grade), then there is no point in this upgrade. I would wait for the GTX780 or something.

It so happens, that I got very frustrated by the AMD driver situation...

Anyhow, I'm gonna search the web for used gtx 670s (to do SLI) or anything that beats my current setup and is from Nvidia...

I never wanna buy an AMD product ever again.

you have already a beast machine and a powerfull graphics system and you wanna spend money for +fps? on 1920x1080? its nonsense have billions fps if you dont change first resolution but if you have the upgrade virus good for you (and the money of course)

but remember this. if you go multiGPU route, it ain't any greener on the other side.
i'd settle for a factory overclocked "single" GTX670 or GTX680 if i were you.

I get constant 85 to 100 FPS with one overclocked gtx680 in bf3. All ultra 1920 x 1200 4x AS. OP if you can find used 670s that would be and awesome setup. Maybe get one 680 now though and another later if you need it

You're starting to sound like a broken record. It's not your business what people do with their money, sonny...
