Laptop buzzing screen sound

I've got a Dell Inspiron 640M and the lower left of the screen is making a buzzing sound then close after 30 seconds. It's not the video card since I can hook it up to an external screen without problem. Could it be the LCD inverter going out of business or the scren itself?

I wanna rebuild it since I don't actually own a laptop and it's a Quad 2 Duo cpu.

Thank you!

I'm going to agree with you here, I am thinking the LCD inverter or the screen itself, especially since it's buzzing.

Sounds like it. No other symptoms?

You can find many one-price repair/replacement services on eBay, I sent an HP out to one and for $139, they ended up replacing the entire LCD, came back working flawlessly, turn around was about a week including shipping to them, they fixed it in a day.

I thought it might be the cable from the MB to the screen, took it apart and checked. Looked at all the sticky foil and ribbons/wires, and decided anything more was a job that really required someone who knew what to look for and how to take it apart correctly, so I put it all back together and it worked! That is, until I wiggled the screen So I sent it out. It was worth it.

8$ shipping included for an inverter so ill give it a try. I saw someone got this problem even in windows due to bad drivers but its doing it even with the HDD removed so its surely the inverter/screen.

I finally installed it. The screen is still buzzing but that time the screen does not shut down after 30 seconds. could it be possible that the light in the screen is going to die and that what broke the original inverter?
