Why do they look like Beats?

Yamaha makes good stuff, but they have serious competition at those price points.

Their upright pianos have been pretty disappointing to me, but that is another story.

The specs do seem like basic cans. Rather stay with my sub $80 audio technica headphones. But they do look like quality though.

I too might be interested in them with a review. My Sennheisers are getting old and I would feel naked without a good pair on a plane.

They say "A sucker is born every minute". Yamaha is clearly catering to this market.

If i wanted Beats, i'd buy Beats! If i wanted Beats and didn't want to pay, i'd buy some Chinese knock-offs

Thankfully i know the difference/s between decent/good sound and not...

Well for that damn price... I am still very pleased with my old Beyerdynamics DT-150, at least it is designed for excessive studio(gamer) like usage... after 3 years my earcushions haven't worn out... and they sound superb... They are closed, lows are very deep as they are closed type... and high independence that is very good for my OTL Tube amps .

Beats and other crap... yeah... sure... and AIDS doesn't exist...

And Yamaha late pianos truly suck, haven't heard a good word in years from my pianist friends.

PS.

I would really like YAMAHA to return in sound card market and shake that creative... I still have my YMF724 somewhere...

Target audience is probably the "I want to look cool but Beats sounds completely shit" crowd.
