LG IPS234V-PN - 23" LED LCD HDMI IPS Monitor | Ebu...

I can get IPS for £112, their actual price needs to be very low in order to compete effectively.

I was gonna ask what the screen size is, but I guess it doesn't really matter - if it's 1080p it's gonna be too big no matter what it is.

NOBODY ON AN ENTHUSIASTS SITE IS INTERESTED IN 1080p MONITORS. THAT IS FOR GIRLS AND GRANDMAS

TPU, do us a favour. Don't copy+paste 1080 news. You are doing the industry a disservice by promoting it. And making your site seems very yester-year. SURELY that is against the values and principles of http://www.techpowerup.com

I am. I am interested in all new products regardless of their specifications.
I want to make the decision to purchase one or not and I don't want TPU trying to do that for me by deciding what make something "enthusiast" and only reporting on those items.

Are you saying that W1zz should stop reviewing low and mid range GPUs because they are not "enthusiast"? Should Dave no longer review low power CPUs because that while they may have great power savings they don't perform well enough to be classified as "enthusiast"?

I think many people may disagree with your sentiment.

It's like every other day car companies releases a car the gets 20 MPG, is expensive, small, underpowered, and sucks balls. We're fucking tired of the billions of different monitors that are 1080p. I don't care if it has the greatest response time ever, has amazing colors, gives me a blowjob every time I turn it on, and costs $40 - the problem is that it's 1080p, and until it stops being 1080p I'm not ever going to even consider it, and bombarding me with the crap is anywhere including (but not limited to) annoying, disappointing, frustrating, angering, and depressing.

At least have a [1080p] tag or some shit.

No offense, HR, but ...
It most likely took you longer to post your response than to read the release in your effort to vent your frustration. If taking 10 seconds to read a press release on a new product causes you that much angst because it is not something you want, you may want to stop reading tech news for a while.

I'll ask w1z to press release and review more Novelty USB devices and cheapo external CD-ROM drives, usb sticks, etc. I'm really sorry TPU isnt covering all your needs

Lol ... thanks for googling that for me. I had no idea there were so many cool USB drives available.
Cheap Christmas gifts FTW !!

Anyway, you know what I mean. 1080P monitors are still an upgrade for some people and as they get more inexpensive become choices for replacements in the work place. Good to know for IT managers.

The TPU news keeps me up on both enthusiast and potential work useful products.

id have to agree with kreij completely, i work as a IT departent manager/repair guy and alot of customers don't even care about 1080p, they just need to display a picture that's all, i've shown them both they don't even notice a difference, if they can get a lower priced item that still seems the same to them, theyll do it.

This is definitely an enthusiasts site but that also involves most of us being in the technology field, and alot of us i bet deal with customer service.

Don't take this the wrong way. What I am encouraging is to redress the balance. The thrust of my viewpoint is to have MOAR stuff that's aspirational or hits our enthusiasts buy list, and LESSAR of the low-grade consumer stuff that is only useful for on pawning on the budget non-tech shopper. Problem is... that TPU seems to be subscribed to the consumer PR streams... and we are "heavy" in the low-tech consumer space. And a bit "light" on the stuff that TPU members would want to buy.

If TPU were to have a news "rating" or "grading" system on TPU... I'd like to see 50/50 enthusiast and pro stuff balancing out consumer PR. At the moment it is more like 10/90 with the balance in the favour of consumer PR. Let's get some PRO and ENTHUSIAST products on the PR page!!! That's what would make TPU news more exciting to me at least.

Note that I have called it the "PR page" and not the "news page". I like to call a spanner a spanner and a brick a brick
