First Build Recommendations
I am looking to limit myself to no more than $2,000 for my build for just the main components/hardware. I already have a gaming mouse, I would like a better keyboard but its not a pressing item. I plan on using my LED 55" 1080P TV until I can purchase a dedicated monitor and a decent computer chair.
Heres what I have on my wishlist at newegg currently I can buy today or I can wait do you think prices will fall on any of my components for Black Friday or Cyber Monday Sales? Case: NZXT Phantom 410 $100 CPU: i5 3570k $230 Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO $35 Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 $135 RAM: G SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600 $40 GPU: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 (x2 Crossfire) $810 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA 6.0 $90 SSD: SAMSUNG 830 256GB $200 PSU: Seasonic X-Series 850W 80 Plus Gold Full Modular $170 Optical: ASUS DRW 24x DVD Burner $20 TOTAL: $1,830 before rebates Will have to save for: ASUS PB Series 27" HDMI Widescreen LED (2560x1440) Monitor $700 is this monitor worth the dough? Or should 1080P be just fine are there many games that even utilize the above resolution? I wont be playing with multiple monitors due to space limitations and I dont personally care for it. Also whats a good comfy chair for extended hours of gaming at a desk? TOTAL w/Monitor: $2,530 before rebates |

You've probably already bought the parts but if you haven't I'd switch to dual 7850's unless money is no object for you. The 7970 is 50% faster but 2.25x the price. Also, you could save big time on a smaller wattage power supply if you did downgrade the cards.

A build with such a high budget, I would recommend to get at minimum the Core i7 3770K
You should also take a look at the Core i7-3930K if you want some serious performance; although at $569 it's quite an investment. The 3770K on the other hand is not that much lower in performance according to the Anandtech benchmarks, but is less than half the price at only $320 (or $269 if you are near a MicroCenter!).
