Sure! Or, if you can get a less expensive 7970 go for that but the Matrix Platinum is a very good card.

I got a crazy 40% overclock on my 7950, i guess it depends on whether or not you want to overclock.

That's the one with all the voltages locked out I wouldn't go with it.

XFX Double D FX797GTDFC Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition...

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100351VXSR Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edi...

I would look at one of those two.

That is amazing.

How's the performance boost? 40%?

I dont see the point in such monster cards for 'normal' people. Those cards were made for extreme overclocking and for the most part under ambient temperature, do not overclock much more than a lower priced model. They tend to flex their muscle under sub zero.

That out of the way, I like cdawall's selections.

FPS does not scale linearly with corespeed increases. I would imagine somewhere between 10-20% however.

The XFX one comes with Dirt 3 and Two Worlds free on top of the AMD package if anyone was curious.

Some <- (use that word sparingly) games scale "kinda-linearly" around to 30% maybe. I think Battlefield is one of those to a certain extent.
