939 question
just got my 939 amd 3000+ in... how the heck do i tell what cor it is? isnt there posibly 2 cores this thing could be? which one is better?

if you bought it new, it will undoubtedly be a venice core. if u want to poke around a bit download cpu-z or central brain identifier.

there are 4 boxed ver. for the 3000+
this will tell you: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/Default.aspx seems to be only one withe the newcastle core, and 3 with the venice if you have this one, then you have the only boxed newcastle.
