Exclamation Evga z68 FTW $59.99 with rebate

EVGA Z68 FTW Extended ATX Motherboard
Regularly $249.99 but todays price is $84.99 or $59.99 After $25.00 MIR
Deals available from 9:00am PT - 3:00pm PT 11/18/2012

I was thinking about getting one myself because it is a good price. I decided against it because My case does not fit EATX first of all, and what spare money I has is going towards water cooling. I wish you guys luck on the deal.

I picked up the Z77 FTW for $93 + tax and shipping from newegg.ca at the end of last month. I would say to anyone looking at these to consider them as its usually been a BIOS issue with the boards (most that are in stock are early revisions). BIOSes are easily updated and from what i've been reading on the egg about various z68 and z77 evga boards is that once you update the BIOS to the latest one, its smooth sailing from there.

Also James888, look at the board measurements and your case measurements. Though these are branded as EATX, in my case the board is .5 mm longer than what my case is listed at, but after looking around the net and watching a review video these mobos fit in larger mid size cases such as my Antec P280

Another issue with this motherboard is it does not support Ivy Bridge chips. EVGA still hasn't released an updated Bios to support IB.

Still a pretty good deal for a 1155 build though.

I did look and measure myself. My motherboard tray is recessed to give more space for tall air coolers. An eatx motherboard fits except in the bottom right corner.

You can see the area in this picture.

EVGA still has not released an updated bios beyond the 05 release. From reading on EVGA's forums, there has been several issues with the 05 bios. You would think that EVGA would at least address these issues and release an updated 06 bios for this board.

Killer price, but I have very mixed feelings toward this puppy.

EDIT: 10:08AM It is officially live now. $84.99 EVGA Z68 FTW.

yea I think I am going to avoid this deal. Probably wouldn't even be any good for a resale deal.

Hmm. I was thinking about just buying it and maybe mod my case to fit it. I could fit it in my haf 912 so I wouldn't have to mod it. I at least could play with it. Are the bios really that bad? It has good reviews.

The most recent bios revisions:
Updates CPU Microcode
Update ME Firmware (7.1.20.1119)
Ability to choose ratio style (BIOS/ELEET)
BIOS Menu Clean Up
DIMM voltage can be adjusted when a memory SPD is selected
Ability to disable BIOS Beep.
Added JSYS_FAN1 and JAUX_fan1 hardware monitor (E672)

Edit:
I decided to buy it anyway. Put it in my cart. Before I could check out it was out of stock.
