Scythe Monobox ATX Case Pictured

Japanese PC component maker Scythe unveiled the Monobox ATX, a mid-tower case designed for silent PC builds. Made of 0.5 mm-thick steel sheets and ABS plastic, the case includes noise-absorption sheets on most of its inner surfaces. The case features three 5.25-inch, and four each of 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drive bays. Two long graphics card stabilizers are provided, which work to counter PCB bending. Ventilation includes two 120 mm front intakes, and one rear 120 mm exhaust, with the idea of maintaining a positive air pressure within the case. Its front-panel features USB 3.0, USB 2.0/1.1, and HD audio jacks. Slated for December 5, it is expected to be priced around US $100.

All I can say is that the people over at Fractal Designs must be getting pretty pissed over how many manufacturers are taking design cues from them

Not a bad looking case though and the graphics card stabilizers are a cool feature.

Ah good point, I had forgotten about them. No individual compartments in this case like the Antec ones had though

.5mm is pretty thin for a case. It better have a lot of sound dampening material if silence is the goal. I did check the link and it is 7.8 kg, so perhaps it is not that horrible.

Scythe were never going to make anything but a "silence" case, were they? I wonder how good the stock fans are?

There's so many good budget cases around now compared to when I got my Antec 900. Most budget cases have black interiors and somewhat decent cable management. Cut a side window in this and you're good to go.

Looks like their older Gekko case just with new panels. Looks yummy. The GPU support brackets are genius.

The front panel door is getting old and just plain annoying, otherwise this looks to be a reasonable case.

It appears either every manufacturer is copying another or they are getting the same stuff from OEMs who make little tweaks to the product to make it appear different.

Aye but those didnt have the same impact. I dunno why really (apart from the market has changed, almost matured).
