I might be going there in the next couple of weeks myself (different location). Going to try my best not to get kicked out for fapping in the isles at all the leet hardware again

I had a thread up like this before and it was closed down due to ONE person misinterpreting what I did and making a huge stink about TPU. Just be careful I fully support bro code for Microcenter purchases.

Agreed. 2500k/2600k's are going for pretty darn cheap right now new and even more so used. I wonder how much we could a 3770k new/used in a year from now.

Got an email from them today that a 3570K is on sale for $170, even cheaper than normal.

They've had it at 169.99 for a while (plus the damn 6.25% tax, it's still the best deal out there), I picked one up three weeks ago. At the time, they were also giving $40 any motherboard if you bought a CPU, so the UD5H was less than $140 with it. Don't know if they're still doing that.

The place is dizzying... more PC goodies than I've ever seen in one place.

I was there in 1999, right before Christmas. Most of what I saw was in consumer electronics, where they were selling flat screen TVs almost exclusively... you could barely find them in the US.

I love their prices but for some reason stock is never correct at the local Houston store... I went there yesterday to pick up a i7 2700K for $199 (6 showed in stock) but no one at the store could find them. I then asked if I could pay for it in the store and have one of the other stores ship it to me and they all tell me no. It's if they almost refuse to do business. Finally decided to get if off of Amazon (a little higher but I hate spending my time and gas just to have the run around at the store) ... and that's not the first time that has happen in the past year.

If you buy online (for pickup), they will send a confirmation when it's ready and hold the item for 3 days. If you don't pick it up, they put it back on the shelves and never charge your CC. It's possiible that they had all 6 waiting for pickup so they still showed them in stock.

But the 2700k is in store only ..... it wont let you add to cart ... and when I called before I left they just checked the computer and said yes we have it without physically putting their hands on one.

Yeah , I read 'bout that in the monthly flyer, I may take a ride to Cambridge soon, if I can save up the cash.

If it was a little cleaner in there , I would probably NEVER leave.

I love that place. Buy a lga1155 & mobo get $50 off, buy a Samsung 840 120Gb ssd, another $20 off. How can you beat that?? Not to mention the Samsung was already like $90 , before the $20 off.

Have a good time.

It was a little "dirty", but hell it's not a womens clothing store

Of all the kick ass deals they have, the CPU's and Motherboards are the BEST. I ended up with the UD5H for $140 ($40 off with a CPU purchase)... Then there were BINS of DDR3 memory, some 8GB 1600 1.5V C9 Kingston kits for $29! I didn't even look at SSD's, I was trying scavenge a deal on a dual band WiFi router.

I still make the trip to my Philly based MC about once every month. That's a 3 hour drive from where I am. People from the office just give me a shopping list and cash. It works itself out in the end.
