Unless you forgot to connect something when doing the PSU swap to the new one, I would assume it is bad.

Did you plug in the CPU power connector with the new PSU? Its either a 4pin or 8pin according on which motherboard you have.
When you get a chance could you fill in your system details under UserCP.

Hi the power supply I bought is SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W ATX12V / EPS12V S... I made sure the main connector was plugged in aswell as the 4 pin cpu connector also dont know why but all of the fans run at a higher rpm than with the old power supply.

IF you try it and it still does not work after a couple of trys and your sure it not the power switch or any connectors. Send it back to Newegg. They have a 30 return policy. Get online and talk to Newegg chat and ask for return shipping. They should e mail it to you

Your symptoms are most probably a grounding problem. Take everything out of the case and build it on a small box.

Don't know if your graphics card has an external power connector, but make sure the PCIe cord is plugged in and secure. If the motherboard has an aux power plug, connect that too.
