Amd 8000 or get a 7000 series?
Well since almost all the 7000 cards are voltage locked, i am pretty much just stuck on what to do next. Should i wait for the 8000 or go get a 7970 ghz edition? I currently had the sapphire 7950 vapor-x but i was no able to overclock it much. Please advise if i should just wait or get a 7970 ghz edition instead of a 7950.
Thanks |

you realize that with a 7970 GHz edition the voltage is usually around 1.25v as is, compared to the 1.08-1.175 found on stock 925mhz models back at launch and should the card be a decent clocker should still allow clocks of around 1200 MHz give or take,

not a fan of the 7950 boost cards the boost clocks seem to jump around alot compared to the 7970 boost edition cards, meaning the 7950 boost at 925 seems to be slower compared to older 7950s clocked to 925 manually etc

why not go to 7970 ghz? another 7950 wont give you a lot of improvement from your current card, unless you want a crossfire setup... |

I have a sapphire HD 7970 vapor-x and my voltage in games is anything between 1.218-1.256 however when I tried using AMD overdrive my voltage went to 1.125 when I switched to AB / Trixx (doesn't work sometimes and no mem voltage control) the voltage acted as it should
