Do you get a post on the screen. The motherboard seems to be working. The video does not show much.

I'm able to get to the windows 7 loading screen using the amd x6 but I was using the x8 in the video. When i went into bios I've noticed my cpu is getting very hot for some reason. I'm not sure if it's giving the right temps or not because it's a new board.

Did you BIOS update to the latest revision if your X8 is the new 83x0?

Turn off all overclocking or reset to BIOS defaults?

*Edit: Awesome 100th post in 4 1/2 year.

Ok, you have established the board works. Use flyin's suggestion. Update the bios.

I just updated the bios, I'm going to do it again. I got the 8 core working without it freezing up in the bios now. But whenever I try to load windows 7 it crashes. My hard drive and gpu were both tested and they work. I used my friends pc to test them.

what PSU are you using and curious if you are using multiple sticks of RAM. If so try a single stick.

that PSU gets quite a few negative reviews about burning up or arriving DOA on NewEgg. If you have a different PSU you might want to give it a try

I've already tried it, but sadly it didn't make a change. I need to figure out how I can get my windows 7 from not freezing

Ok, here is where you need to troubleshoot. You can easily test the PSU with a multimeter. They are pretty cheap. See if the 12v rail is pulling 12 volts. i had the same problem with one of my systems and the system started but would not boot to windows. i changed every piece of hardware and then tested the 12V rail and bingo. 8 volts.

It could be a drive, bad sata cable, memory ect........ Bottom line is: board works.

So far, everyone is crapshooting. if you do it in order, you will find the problem.

Here is a tutoral on testing PSU

Manually Test a (PSU) Power Supply With a Multimet...

Check your SATA settings. I know that switching between IDE mode and AHCI mode will cause the OS to reboot during loading.

If you had it on AHCI mode, the BIOS update would have set your SATA settings to IDE mode.
