System Specs

NForce5 with 300 Mhz FSB

The Inquirer has some info according to which NForce5 will be running 300 FSB.

Quote:
Our sources confirmed that the Nvidia Pentium 4 chipset will go up to FSB 1200MHz, using 300MHz rather than 200MHz multiples.
Our friends at www.ocworkbench.com even have a screenshot to prove it. It goes up to FSB 300 without major problems. Intel 915 and 925 chipset cannot easily get to those speeds. For the record, an FSB of 300MHz means that in quad pumped Pentium 4 mode it actually works at 1200 MHz.

i865 gets to 300 or at least very close doesn't it? Why can't the newer generation chipsets?

When do the 64 Bit pentiums come out? Right now the Athlon 64's cost less than their P4 counterpart and perform better.
