asrock z68 extreme7 gen3 sata3 drive in sata3 port reading in windows as sata2

So title kinda says it all. I have 2 kingston 240GB ssd's in raid0, one of the drives however has started showing up as sata2 or "sata3Gb/s" i had switched out the cables and that fixed it then put my video cards, usb devices, sound card back in and now one drive always shows as sata2 as opposed to sata3. It's killing the performance of the array which i intend to run my games and OS off of, i can confirm it is not the drives as i've tried it in other boards, but it seems like i'm either not doing something right or there is something wrong with my board/cables/settings? Help me!! Please!!

Uninstall the disk controler in the device manger and reboot see if that fixs it
are you using the Intel Rapid response thingy?
also what does the BIOS report the speed as ?
you can also go into the bios and change and or disable sata2 support

things to check
disk controller is in ACHI MODE AND the ACHI driver is set to start in the registery
drives are plugged into the SATA3 port ( recommend putting them on different headers if you can use both sets of Grayplugs as thos are the sata 6)
proper chip-set drivers are installed
make sure intels raid drivers are installed

i'm not using the asmedia controller, i'm using the two grey intel sata3(6Gb/s) ports, i had different cables installed then i do now which i'll double check when i get home. the bios reports them as being in a sata3 port, intel raid is "raid0" 128k stripe, i'm using the latest iastor.sys drivers and latest rapid storage technology control panel. sometimes the drive will be at 6Gb/s until i start benching it and halfway through it will drop...

sounds like noise xor interference in the cabling or the controler is faulty
do you have the drives plugged into the Same set of sata ports (Ie one on top of another)
if so move it over put one on the bottom on one set and one on the top on one set of the gray headers that board should have 4 sata 6 ports
