The 7950 is a very capable card, as for Sapphire, the company who make the card, in my opinion is one of the better of the the card producers available, however this is down to personal opinion.

It is a shame you didn't poke a little more and get the 7970 (which is what I have just got) and in my opinion one of the best cards on the market.

Truth be told, the card is fantastic and will do you well/last you some time. you didn't make a bad decision, enjoy the card.

He paid 104Euros to go from a 6950 to a 7950 which is a good price for the jump in comparison, the 7 series are so much more powerful,

They refunded what i paid for old card(shipping too) + i had pay the 104eur more for the new. If i wanted the 7970 it had costed me another 97eur and i think its not worth it.

I came in here furious that someone named x800 would try to one-up me. Turns out hes a member longer than me.

I have a 7950 and am very happy with it. I got my clocks up from 850 to 1180, and did this all without failing the card once.

Well you did not specify your refund but I have the same card Sapphire HD 7950 and I have been very happy with the results. My GPU is overclocked to a 1200 and memory 1300.. I paid $289 off newegg for my first gfx card, then I wanted to use 2 and go Crossfire, paid $319 off newegg that time :| but for some reason every time i booted to windows i would freeze within 10 seconds.. Once I finally got it working which was only for 1 time, I played battlefield, ran benchmarks and did not see any change in performance... Im not sure if i froze when running crossfire because I only had a 830watt PSU and that gfx card requires a minimum 500watt or if it was my motherboard or CPU... my cpu is the AMD Phenom II x2 965 Black Edition 3.4ghz, I probably had it overclock but cant remember if i did and what speed if i did... But to answer the question i originally posted for was I paid $319.00 dollars from newegg which i believe is 243.17 euros according to windows 7 desktop gadget currency.. It comes in useful sometimes oh and also the motherboard i was using was a ASRock M3A770DE.. its pretty old you can view specs click here... It says it supports AMD Crossfire so I didnt think it could be my MB, I figured was probably my PSU which is a Thermaltake 830watt... as i said the HD 7950 requires minimum 500watt or greater.

---EDIT--- to find out exactly what gfx card version i had click here for specs.... i had the sapphire HD 7950 with boos and Dual-X extreme dual-fan cooling... i just look on back of card and found sticker with my SKU# which is the version because i was at sapphire site and i couldn't find my version, i have SKU# 11196-16 but i looked at my box also and the SKU# is 11196-16-20 and that is my correct version.. i was looking at other 11196-00 and 01 and others and the box was horizontal and mines shows the army girl vertical on the box and has copper heat pipes, i noticed many others did not........ i run 100% duty cycle and idle on windows I stay at 26 Celsius.. in-game i get around 38-44 Celsius..
