AGEIA Joins Futuremark's 3DMark Benchmark Development Program

Futuremark Corporation, announced today that Mountain View, California based AGEIA Technologies Inc. has joined the 3DMark Benchmark Development Program. Futuremark has created the 3DMark Benchmark Development Program (BDP) to build partnerships with leading PC and gaming industry stakeholders that have an interest in the development unbiased benchmark software that accurately measures the performance of next generation technology and hardware. Futuremark provides all its BDP Members with specifications and pre-production versions of its benchmarks and, in turn, evaluates the feedback provided by those members.
Quote:
Futuremark is pleased to welcome AGEIA to the 3DMark BDP. AGEIA brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in hardware acceleration of real-time physics to the BDP, and their advances in the marketplace offer great promise to the PC gaming environment. AGEIA is fully committed to the development of fair and objective benchmarks and understands that as a result; consumers will get better performing hardware and software, and a more exciting gaming experience.
said Oliver Baltuch, Futuremark's VP of Sales and Marketing, North America.

great so now instead of needing dual gpu's and a dual core cpu to get a decent score your physics will also factor in?

seems like abuncy of marketing bs to me, such as the fact that the need for dual gpu's and dual core cpu's really doesn't factor so much in most games. lol

How can it be "un biased" if all the major stakeholders are working with futuremark to provide a fair testing platform? there is no such thing when you have so many partners and before you know it some will drop out if the benching does not favour their particular product in the score stakes and then the likes of AGEIA will be telling us that to acheive this level of performance that futuremark are testing we will need add on cards.....ohhhh and who makes them?????
