Cooler Master Announces Hyper 212X CPU Cooler

Cooler Master, an industry leading chassis, thermal solution, peripheral, and accessory manufacturer today showcases a powerful, yet highly affordable CPU cooler, the Hyper 212X. With the Hyper 212X, high air cooling performance is available to builders with all budget levels.

Building upon the wildly popular Hyper 212 and Hyper 212 EVO, Hyper 212X improves a classic design. It includes the proven effective, patented Quad Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) heatpipe layout. Then, it steps forward by further improving the aluminum fin array with a new Tunnel Effect layout that not only improves the exchange of heat, but reduces overall noise.

The fan has also been upgraded to include a long life and high durability POM bearing fan that has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 160,000 hours. This redesigned fan includes specially developed blades that create vortices to boost airflow and keep noise levels down. This includes a Smart Fan engine feature that helps reduce damage or injury by stopping the fan when blocked and resuming operation when the block has been cleared.

Hyper 212X is compatible with all current socket types, including Intel LGA 2011 and FM1.

Hyper 212X will be available 8th January, 2013. Price and availability may vary based on region. Please consult your local Cooler Master Representative for more information.

It's funny cause a few years back the Hyper 212 series was just a low-end cooler that CM never really advertised and was cheap. Then people found out that the 212 performed quite well for being just under the $20 price tag and started selling lots of them! Since the Hyper 212's early success, the price has almost doubled and CM is still trying to hold on to this coolers fame by adding somewhat meaningless features to the same existing cooler.

I’d like to see a dual radiator tower design from Coolermaster for ~$39.99

Give the Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Noctua NH-D14, SilverStone Heligon HE01 and Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme a run for their collective money at half the price,…..

I see it now..
next year it will be the same fan with 100 less rpm and they will advertise it as a lower noise fan with a longer life..
the year after it will have 2 more aluminum fins and advertise it as better heat dissipation...
and then....oh the heck with it...

Call of Duty will always be on top Cooler Master, don't even try to...

Advancement is happening in the closed loop sector, not tower. To be fair ever since 1366 the TDP of the top end chips have not been going upwards like a rocket, so you don't really get the incentive to innovate that heavily.

I'd rather them advertise a new mounting system. Absolutely hate when I have to take off my 212+. Pain in the butt.

Arctic Freezer i30/a30 = superior. Costs the same as 212 EVO where I'm from.
