Tomb Raider

2 trailers/guides by gametrailers. Those who haven't seen them yet can check the videos below.

http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/3...ival-episode-1

http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/0...val--episode-2

Game mechanics and graphics look good and promising. No idea about its plot and gameplay, I hope they won't be boring and disappointing. I don't know where it all is going but I hope this reboot won't ruin the series.

Gameplay looks good, skills and RPG-like elements are a good way to hook someone into the game. Graphics look generic, but what can you expect in this day and age. Definitely will play this one.
Almost reminds me of Farcy 3 a tiny bit from the gameplay trailers.

Looks good, I like the use of items. I just hope it doesn't have a confusing and laborious crafting system like AC3.

seriously cannot wait for this game. Haven't Pre Purchased yet, and probably wont. Waiting for release day reviews on IGN and such before buying. Never played a Tomb Raider game this will be the first if it all turns out how it should

I wish I could go back and unspoil myself to actually get fun out of games like these.
Was really amazing times with first 3D voodoo cards and games like Tomb Raider.
Hope they can catch some old school atmosphere that came with this game.

Lara Croft is up with Gordon Freeman in their celebrity status. By the looks of what I have seen of TR so far I am predicting TR to be the next HL2. Game of the year and game of the decade status to follow. Yup, that's my prediction.

I will for sure be getting Tomb Raider.

I'm almost worried you guys are going to jinx it with all this praise. Seems every time the majority of players have big expectations lately, we get let down.

Far Cry 3 was one of those games I wasn't sure I'd like much, but it ended up being pretty good. So here's to that ho hum adventure exploring game with the acrobatic chick, break a leg what's your name. LOL

Interesting, but I worry, are they trading adventure for action in this one? If they keep showing nothing but action sequences I tend to wonder if it's going to be some strange Lara Payne game. The focus in TR has always been the tomb puzzles. Hope they still have a lot of that, otherwise it's going to be more of an adventure shooter.

It's not that I don't like the additions, I just hope it does't lean heavily toward combat and skimp on tomb and relic puzzles. Underground was a huge step down from Anniversary in that regard. One had awesome timed relic puzzles that were quite hazardous, the other you just bust clay pots laying out in the open to get the relics. You don't even need to find them, let alone risk your life getting them.

its not a prequel, its a full reboot, and its an origin story for the first game, something the previous TR games lacked, in TR1, lara was already asskicking from the start

Yes, I know what are you talking about. This one seems to be based on crafting and shooting. It's a surviving game and it has a multiplayer. I don't know about the next TR games but this one is more about action than anything else. I'm not even sure but maybe days when TR was focused on puzzles are long gone. The last 3 games were quite shitty.

I am a bit worried this game is going to be repetitive, it's already been disclosed that you have to re-visit the same places again and again to move the story onwards.

Many games are like that. Old TR also had a lot of backtracking. But when you revisit the area it's not technically the same area. New enemies and items are spawned and with gained XP you can "unlock" unreachable places. It's up to player to make different decisions or take different paths to make it look less repetitive. But unfortunately it's not open world game, developers changed their mind and made it more linear/scripted.

I'm perfectly happy if its more action oriented. It will be refreshing. I prefer this type of gameplay anyway. Can't wait for next week!
