It depends on what we can get you to do with it. Seriously though I am running a 7850 in one of my crunching rigs and it runs full load 24/7 without issues. I am going to pick up 2 more and run them in crossfire in my newest build (Fx 8350). So my vote will always be Ati/Amd but I am extremely biased towards them anyhoo.

I prefer nvidia, because the drivers tend to be better. If you're into 3D, then 3D Vision is really good and AMD doesn't have a competing system.

Having said that, if you buy the 7850, you won't be getting a lemon, either.

I'm kinda leaning toward this card so far.

I'm reading that not many 660 have voltage control mostly all 660ti do, but they are out of my price range.

around $200 is my limit.

'Grats on the purchase, comes with COD4 as well, the COD series got me hooked on war themed FPS, COD4 was set in the modern era where the previous COD iterations were WW2 based. Anyway, very, very nice choice of card, and at that awesome price as well! It is leagues ahead of theyour present card, remember to uninstall you resent driver, reboot, run Driver Sweeper if you want to, reboot and install Cat13.1 WHQL driver that was just released. Reboot and happy gaming!

The MSI 7870 you chose is a fine card despite being the hottest of the lot, unless it has been overtaken by the ASUS Dtrectcu II 7870 v2.

It's xfx. The single fan is no worry saved a few $. also, I run my case with no side panel nothing ever gets hot in there lol. If anything I can unscrew some of the shroud and add a 120 mm with zip ties.

Ugh that's right and I saw the word 'core' in the title.
But yeah it's 'supposed' to be with hottest, but with the V2 ASUS 7870 hitting 95degC stock in a review...idk...
Either way, unless doing some serous OCing the card is not going to give you any grief.
Personally it is the nicest looking of 7870s too.

why 7870 isn't in your pool is similarly priced with the 660 a little faster and a better overclocker.
