Is AMD better than Intel when it comes to gaming?

Ok, i met this guy that is a complete p4 guy that hates amd to death. so what pc u think will be better for gaming? he says one thing i but im not sure about that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,any help?
i have........
AMD64 3200 1meg L2 chash
1gig of ddr400
gigabyte K8-npro mobo
ati 9800xt 256
80 gig western digital

this guy has.....
Intel p4 3.0 ghz
not sure of the mobo
1 gig of ddr400 not dual channel
fx5700 256 card
160 seagate hdd

System Specs

the AMD by a mile.
first off: faster rated processor that can actually beat EE series processors and far higher clocked processors.
second: it has a 9800XT 256 which beats the **** out of an fx5700 256.

aaahmmm, i'd like to say google it... there are tons of benchmarks on this topic...

and for your rig, i'd say it's better for gaming because considering the video card alone (9800XT)... men that card rocks big time!!

System Specs

When you compare top of the line Athlon64 vs top of the line P4 (EE or not EE), AMD wins in almost every gaming benchmark at the present moment.

yeah I concure the AMD A64 is a far better CPU for gamming than ANY P4 out there ! I also think that the AMD CPU ROCKS !!! no P4 can compete with mine at all !!! if so bring it on intell bring it on !!
