Favourites would be an XFX HD 5850 Black for its bang-for-buck. Most fun would be the two 580's I replaced it with (both excellent clockers) for benchmarking.

The card runs cool, has soft red lights, and easily plays games at 1920 x 1200. It even has a VGA port so you don't need an adapter for older monitors and the 1 GB means it's 32-bit OS friendly. So yeah... great card that does just about everything and easily goes with just about any system.

I have a XFX GeForce 8600 GTS that was stock at 725/1450 (core/shader) and without and voltage mods it would do 950/1950 stable. Now all it does is damage displays DDC controller without the right adapter so now it just makes a good paper weight. This GPU had one of the best % overclocks I've ever had.

As far as unique video cards, I'm glad that I still have my Radeon HD 2600 XT with GDDR4 memory, you don't find GDDR4 very often.

That thing didn't make a sound. And for a very long time held the crown for quietest GPU under load on w1zzards charts. Until he got rid of the lower cards.

Sapphire ATi 9550 256 Mb / 128 bits AGP 8X

Great card. Overclocked almost 100% (250 to... 475 MHz??.. yes) without touching VCore. The VRAM went from DDR400 to DDR520

First working in a Celeron northwood, before that, working in my old 3200+ Venice socket 754, replaced with a HD2600 Pro AGP (nice card, built by Sapphire as well), so the card (9550) went installed in an Athlon XP 2000+ overclocked to 2000 MHz. Currently remains with that hardware, being used by a friend girlfriend.

Again, apologize my English grammar

i think this topic is supposed to telling about your favorite graphics card rather than your own but most of the people seem to be doing completely opposite.
Anyway, I have MSI HD 6850 Cyclone OC 1GB Edition but i don't like it too much because it makes too much noise while playing games and get bit overheated while playing and even though i am running xp which is very low on resources it can't run some games like skyrim, fc3, witcher 2, ds3 in ultra which is disappointing because as compared to the price of of US this card costed almost the double price over here.

Although, I would like to own a MS HD 7850 which looks very impressive and performers much better (a bit pricey) but would do the job for me.

yes this is true, however any answer is a good one to me because adding gpus to the db without interaction is boring sometimes, this way I get to see which cards people actually like and add them to the db

Probably because for a few of us hardware fanatics the truly exciting era is largely outside the scope of most mainstream forums (and the database). Back when 3D gaming was a new realm- and the graphics manufacturing business was like the old wild west, held (and still holds) a strong fascination for some of us...but the names mean little, or nothing, to a vast majority of forum readers (3DLabs, Rendition, Tseng Labs, Number Nine etc.)
If it comes down to boards I've owned, and lusted after, I have to put on the rose coloured glasses and discount the drawbacks of bad drivers, high prices, and games tailored to a single API -of which there were many, such as GLIDE, RRedline, S3d, Creative Graphics Library et al in addition to D3D and OGL.

Anyhow, a couple I can remember avidly are the Number Nine Revolution IV-FP which came bundled with an SGI 1600SW 1600x1024 monitor (~$2800 in 1998), and the Quantum3D Obsidian 100SB-4440V.

Bit of a holdover from the more-hyperbole-is-better phase of graphics marketing...

Hercules Graphite Terminator Professional (S3 Vision968)
Metabyte Wicked3D Vengeance (3Dfx Voodoo Banshee)
Creative 3D Blaster Annihilator Pro (Nvidia GeForce 256 DDR)
2theMax Fantasy FX Power 3D (3Dfx Voodoo Graphics)

BTW: What about the GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB ? Should be included in the database just for its $899 MSRP in 2005 ($999 for the BFG OCéd version- mentioned briefly at TPU >here<)

My old GeForce 6600 GT. Came from the first computer I had for myself.

Forgot the manufacturer, I think it might have been Gigabyte.

The thing died when the heatsink from my AMD processor fell on it (turns out the heatsink was attached only by the thermal pads). Such a sad day...

I agree Heldelance...The 6600GT was a pivotal card, mine was an XFX(pic below). If I'm recalling correctly it was the last AGP card that I purchased. I didn't really like the card at first because of the 45 degree offset of the GPU...made it a pain for fitting waterblocks.

Although....If I was to put in a vote for an all time favorite, the second pic would be my choice.

Hercules Graphics Adapter baby!
Because 720x348 lines was awesome (well, compared to CGA at 320x240 and 640x240).
Besides, CGA colors were sh*t anyway.

Plus it drove your printer too! I had one in 1987 with a Siemens built 286-16 (overclocked to 20MHz using a 40MHz clock crystal in place of the 32MHz one).

I was totally rocking Prince of Persia, Test Drive I and II and all sorts of late 80s awesomeness with the HGA.
