Microsoft Word (2007) Problem

Hey All!
So my friend have a really big problem with MS word atm. She's writing something really important for work and she kinda lost her document.
The problem is that she opened doc. directly from email (the one that she was writing at home) and she kept writing (at work) and kept pressing CTRL+S...assuming that she is saving the doc. on the computer @ work.
This morning she went to work and found out that she doesn't have doc. she was writing the day before. Atm she only have original version in email.
I tried to help her out and told her to look for Temp folders etc. and search for wbk./doc. and ~*.* files (hidden folders and files included)...but with no luck. Also when she opens MS word now...the program is not offering any kind of Recovery mode and its also not showing the Recent files .
She is using Windows XP @ work and she is on guest account, but i think she can get admin pass and login as admin (if thats gonna help).
Any suggestions how to recover the file? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english

If she is using Outlook did you ask her to check in Outlook Temp folder ? To see the files in temp folder, open another .doc attachment (from email) and when in Word, just use "Save as" option and you should see the location of the outlook temp folder. Open that folder separately and look for the last modified file.

Hi!
I've come across this problem couple of times. I am also using XP. Well whenever you open any document from outlook directly and make changes to it and keep on saving then by default its gets save in temporary files ( Under this address on My computer - C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 ). Well You just need to look for the subfolders under this Content.IE5 folder and keep looking for the filename.

Also if you remembers the filename then you can search for that but make sure that the searching is enable for hidden files and folders as well. Also don't open the same document again from Outlook as otherwise it will over-ride the contents of previous one. One more thing if you've deleted the History or cookies or temporary files specifically from Internet Explorer then there are chances you can never retrieve that file again as happened with me in the past

If it has been deleted, use recuva and search for documents. you may be able to get it back.

Please don't use Windows Search from Windows XP ... instead, install this lightweight search engine:

http://www.voidtools.com/download.php

You will find files much faster and most importantly - you will actually find them
